The Girls STEAM Institute™ Virtual Reality Girls Team Business Challenge is geared to educate and encourage young girls 12-17 to become entrepreneurs and solve world problems. Twelve girls were chosen by representing diversity in geography, age, culture and assigned to a team of 4 to develop a business with viable concepts to remedy the Climate Change Crisis and the Role of Technology and Saving Our Earth.
The Team Business Challenge is free for participants. Each 4-member team will develop a business idea and a digital app that can solve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for the global Mental Health crises. Teams will pitch their tech app to a panel of judges and win recognition as Top Innovation or Top Social Impact.
The Girls STEAM Institute™ is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that focuses on empowering and inspiring girls 13-18 to pursue STEAM entrepreneurship and leadership.
To apply, girls must be between 12 and 17 years old. Contact us for an application form.
HOW TO ATTEND
There are multiple ways to attend the event, and a VR headset is not required. Think of it as attending online conference session in immersive 360.
- Computer/Laptop
- Go to ENGAGE XR and download and install the desktop version.
- Register for free.
- At the time of the event, start the ENGAGE XR software, login, click the event link in the EVENT screen and JOIN.
- Mobile Device (phone or tablet)
- Go to ENGAGE XR and download and install the mobile version or install through your device store.
- Register for free.
- At the time of the event, start the ENGAGE XR app, login, and click the event link to join.
- VR Headset (Quest, Pico, and many others)
- Go to the VR headset store and download and install the ENGAGE XR app.
- Register for free (on the web or in the app).
- At the time of the event, launch the ENGAGE XR app and Join the event.
