XR News on YouTube is one of the longest running news shows focused on consumer XR technology and social VR produced in and with virtual reality.
Girls STEAM Institute CEO and Co-Founder, Diane McClelland, and GSI board member, Dr. Angelina (Dayton) Rinehart, are special guests for the XR News June 25, 2025, show. They will be discussing the upcoming Girls STEAM Institute 2025 Global Team Business Challenge in October, and both of their ongoing work in XR/AI innovation and leadership.
Diane McClelland, our GSI CEO and Co-Founder, is the recent recipient of the 2025 International Association of Top Professionals Awards as the top honoree as Co-Founder and CEO for Non-Profits, and Marquis Who’s Who in America. For over 40 years, she has been an innovator and driving force in mentoring women in business and embracing emerging technology.
Dr. Angelina Rinehart is beloved as the famous VR Lady, deploying over 60,000 VR headsets across North America to students and schools since 2017. She is Executive Director of the Rinehart Foundation and an Aspen Institute Tech Policy Fellow, and former director of the Virtual World Society. She was recently named one of the Top 100 Women of the Future. She continues her mission in emerging technology and education working with North American indigenous tribes to preserve their cultural heritage through digital preservation techniques including photogrammetry, 360 photo and video scanning, and AI and XR app development.
XR News began in 2018 in AltspaceVR as a way to give back to the social VR community by announcing events and activities. Produced by Mark S. and Lorelle VanFossen of Educators in VR, it soon expanded from a community news show to a full-fledged video podcast in VR. Moving to ENGAGE XR after the closure of AltspaceVR, the XR News brings not only news from across the metaverse vital to the social XR community, it features special guest interviews.
The weekly show schedule features:
- First Wednesdays: XR News Med Health special edition covers news and interviews with experts and pioneers in the XR medical, healthcare, and wellness fields with host Rachel Darden, XR wellness coach.
- Second and Fourth Wednesdays: XR News covers the news from the XR industry and metaverse and features a special guest from the XR community.
- Third Wednesdays: XR News Innovation Spotlight explores the latest innovations and advancements in XR technology for education, consumers, and industry with hosts and XR pioneers Maxwell McGee, Chris Madsen, and Dr. Tom Furness.
