Guest speakers are Annie Fox, educator, author, and podcaster, and Dr. Judith Denery, Head of Analytical Chemistry at Cana Technology and GSI Parent-Teacher Advisory Council Chair.

Annie Fox is an accomplished author and educator with over four decades of experience, known for her impactful works aimed at children and teens. Her notable books include The Little Things That Kill: A Teen Friendship Afterlife Apology Tour and the Middle School Confidential series, which tackle the complexities of friendship and personal growth. Annie also conducts workshops for teens, families, and educators, focusing on emotional intelligence and relationship management.

As a passionate advocate for youth empowerment, Annie shares valuable insights through her engaging podcasts and online platforms. She holds a degree in Human Development from Cornell University and a master’s in education from SUNY Cortland.

Dr. Judith Denery is a seasoned scientist with over 30 years of experience in analytical chemistry and biotechnology. Currently serving as the Director of Analytical R&D at UPSIDE Foods, she previously held leadership positions at Cana Technology and Amyris. Dr. Denery’s expertise spans from analytical method development to overseeing complex scientific projects in the food tech and synthetic biology industries. Her career began as a high school chemistry teacher and Peace Corps volunteer in Tonga, reflecting her commitment to education and global impact.

Dr. Denery holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biosciences from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a B.S. in Biological Sciences from Humboldt State University. Beyond her professional achievements, she is actively involved in her community as the Chair of the Parent-Teacher Advisory Council at Girls STEAM Institute, where she combines her passion for science with her dedication to fostering the next generation of innovators.

Both are excited to speak at the upcoming Girls STEAM Institute event, where they will inspire the next generation of girls to embrace their potential in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, and to discuss the impact of the COVID pandemic on schools and students.
